The months to follow... first kiss!

So after our first meal, Felicia and I kept in contact daily.  She assisted me in finding an apartment on her side of town, and I signed up for a new gym membership close by.  We would meet after work, and work out.  sometimes eat a meal together.  Some nights, most of them we would be up talking until 3am, then I would drive home.  I am thankful I found a closer Apt.  I was driving across town for the first month.
We would talk about most anything, from our lives to what we would eventually want in a relationship.  I was not into the idea of dating anyone at this time, and she was just dating sporadic, but nothing too serious.  Our friendship grew each night we spent visiting.  I enjoyed our time and each night I would hope to see her the next day.  It felt natural and comfortable to me.
Finally, after a couple weeks of long nights and watching movies, we had our first kiss.  We had been talking about movies, and she asked if I had watched "Once"  I hadn't.  So she put it in, and proceeded to sit on the couch next to me, and not in her own chair.  This was different!  She leaned against me and started to snuggle.  I was not very comfortable at this time with being touched.  She forced some contact, andI was in shock, but enjoyed it.  During the movie she pulled my arm around her and would lightly stroke my arm during the movie.  I can't remember most of the movie, but I remember the touch.  After the movie she remained close to me and we talked for a little bit, about the movie and the touching.  I had a breakdown, this was nice, and not normal.  I didn't know how to respond, but I tried to just be.
After a couple hours, I needed to go home.   She had to get up and leave for a business trip in the morning.  She walked me to the door, and at the point of good bye she asked, "Are you going to kiss me or what"?  I said I would love to and we kissed.  She asked how comfortable that was, I replied it was different.  She said I needed to kiss her again until it was not akward.  We kissed a second time, and it was a long passionate kiss... the drive home was long, but be talked the entire way. The next four days while she was gone were some of the longest days...more to follow...

Our first meal together

Felicia asked me what I did for fun, I took hours to reply due to the fact that I had spent the last few years going to college and working two jobs.  My free time was little to none.  So I ave a list of things I did enjoy doing, even though I had not done them in a long time.  We emailed back a forth for a couple days, then she asked me to see a movie with her.   This was not a date just a friendly get together, and chat.
We met at the theater right after work on on e of the hottest days of the summer.  We elected to watch the movie first then get a bite to eat.  The movie was "The Ugly Truth", and it was an ugly movie.  Felicia andI ended up making fun of the movie and chatting almost the entire time.  Afterwards we walked to McCormick's and Schmidts restaurant.  They were packed, but we found a small table in the bar, ordered water and continued chatting.  We never looked at the menu for a least a couple hours.  We just sat and talked, moving from one subject to another, about our lives, things we enjoy, sports, and so many other things I cannot recall.  At one point, she suggested we order at least something.  She said to me, " Lets just get the tuna and share it".  I agreed, even though I am not a food sharing person.  I didn't like people touching my food, but we shared the meal and enjoyed more conversation until they started closing.  We left the restaurant and parted ways for the evening.
At some point on the way home I realized we just shared a meal andI was not bothered by it.  I did spend some time processing the night and felt we had a great visit.  I hoped to see Felicia soon and do more fun things.  We had plans to hang out again later that week, she offered to help me find a place to live on the west side of town.  Now we share almost all our meals and enjoy so many activities that our schedules are full most days.
I will share the great apartment search and the gym incident next time... stay tuned.

The Beginning of Us

This is our blog to tell our story and share the love we have with the world.  Felicia and I (Deven) met in July 2009, at of all places Relay for Life.  Somehow I was convinced to join the relay by the ladies at the office and walk the overnight shift from 10pm to 6am.  I had never done anything like this but intended to have a fun time.
We spent the night walking around a track and having a good time as a group.  Felicia andI walked alone a couple times.  On our first walk she started asking about me and my life, we walked for about an hour and shared things form our lives with each other.  I had a great night and we watched the sun come up together, and at that moment I wished she could be more than a friend.  She was all I could think aout for a couple days, butI never guessed we would hang out again.  I stayed until after my shift was intended to be done, and helped her take down our tent area.  I even paid for a massage for her.  I was a little jealous that she had a date the next day with some other guy I didn't even know.  I was not looking for much more than a friend.
A couple days later she sent me an email asking what I did for fun... I replied, and we had our first meeting shortly after.. Details on that next post...
